Nike Stadium Paris “Black Magic” Exhibit...

 

Nike Stadium Paris launched its “Black Magic” exhibition last night in the French capital. The multi-dimensional exhibition featured the work of French-Korean artist Sanghon Kim through the exploration of the increasing “mystical influence” derived from Africa on both a global and football level. Three Nike-sponsored teams create a mock “Group of Death” which include Portugal, Côte d’Ivoire and Brazil. From there each are assigned a magic colour (orange for Côte d’Ivoire, yellow for Brasil, dark red for Portugal), a magic animal – the elephant, the jaguar and the dragon (for St Georges’ myth), a magic number (11, 10, 7), a spell (strength, agility, speed) and also a magic football boot.
